Communications Manager, Fertility Network UK
Dr Catherine Hill is Communications Manager at the charity Fertility Network UK. Her background is in science communication, and she has lead media campaigns including National Fertility Awareness Week and appears regularly in the media (on BBC1's Breakfast programme, on BBC2's Newsnight and Victoria Derbyshire, and on BBC Radio 4's World at One). She has also worked for many years as a science journalist, including as science correspondent for the newspaper The European.
Catherine is a non-fiction author, broadcaster and public speaker. Her books include The Story of V (buy this book from Amazon UK), a cultural biography of female genitalia which has been published in 13 countries. She has written for a variety of publications including the Financial Times and the Health Service Journal, and she has lectured nationally and internationally (including at the Cheltenham and Manchester Science Festivals). She has acted as a consultant for theatre, and she is a member of the Society of Authors and of the Women's Voices Involvement Panel of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has a PhD in Drug Metabolism from Birkbeck College (now Birkbeck University of London).
