Dr Julia Kopeika

Consultant Gynaecologist

Dr Julia Kopeika PhD, FRCOG is a Consultant Gynaecologist, Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Head of the Assisted Conception Unit, and Lead for Fertility Preservation at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She completed the RCOG-accredited subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where she was subsequently appointed as a consultant. She holds a PhD in reproductive biology and cryobiology. Her pioneering research on the cryopreservation of sperm, eggs, and embryos has received multiple awards from international scientific societies. Her contributions to the field of reproductive biology were recognised by the House of Commons, where she was invited to present her work as one of the UK’s leading young scientists. She has led and expanded one of the busiest fertility preservation services in the UK and played a key role in introducing advanced technologies, including ovarian tissue preservation, to the service. She is a strong advocate for evidence-based medicine and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care to her patients. She is also committed to training and mentoring the next generation of clinicians in reproductive medicine.
