Dr Martha Roberts

Dr Martha Roberts is a Volunteer Writer at BioNews, having originally joined the publication under the auspices of its writing scheme. She has completed a PhD at University College London (UCL)'s Queen Square Institute of Neurology, where her research focused on finding new mechanisms and therapies for the neuromuscular disease spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy. Previously, she studied Natural Sciences at Durham University and went on to obtain an MSc in Neuroscience from UCL. She enjoys public engagement to inspire the next generation of scientists, and she tweets as @neuro_martha _
