Dr Nienke de Graeff is an assistant professor of bioethics at Leiden University Medical Centre, the Netherlands, who leads research on the ethics of emerging biomedical technologies. Her research focuses on the ethical questions raised by developments in the fields of stem cell research, genetic modification, regenerative medicine, and embryo models. Next to her academic work, she is passionate about societal outreach and policy work. She is a member of several committees such as the Young Academy Leiden and the Committee on Ethics and Societal Aspects of the Netherlands Commission on Genetic Modification.
