A founder partner of Fertility Genetics
Dr Valerie Shaikly is a Volunteer Writer at BioNews. She is a clinical embryologist, and a consultant clinical scientist specialising in genomic medicine within reproductive science. She is a founding Partner at Fertility Genetics, Ex-Chair of Examiners for Reproductive Science at the Royal College of Pathologists (where she is also a Fellow and sits on the SAC for Genetics and Reproductive Science), Co-Chair of the Education Training Committee and Chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Association of Reproductive Clinical Scientists, and a Fellow of the Academy for Healthcare Science and the Institute of Biomedical Science. She has a PhD in Reproductive Immunology from the University of Essex, and an MSc in Health Promotion from the University of East London. She originally studied Molecular Biology at the University of York, and went on to train in Embryology at Hammersmith Hospital under the tutorship of Professor Lord Robert Winston.
