Scientists are working towards creating computers out of living cells. Termed 'biocomputers', electrodes are attached to brain organoids with the hope to create mini-computers.
Dr Fred Jordan, chief executive officer and co-founder at FinalSpark in Switzerland, is leading the team hoping to create the biocomputers.
The researchers are using stem cells from human skin cells, which are cultured to become clusters of neurons. After several months, the developed organoids are attached to an electrode.
