A saliva-based DNA study has shown that saliva DNA may aid in assessing the risk of developing prostate cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, and Parkinson's disease.
Publishing their findings in Nature, researchers at the University of the Basque Country in Spain, found that molecular markers in saliva can reflect whole-body disease processes.
Parkinson's News Today has more information on the study.
