Harnessing pluripotency for human embryo model research
Identifying the defining characteristics of different states of stem cell pluripotency could hold the key to improving human stem cell-based embryo models...
Postdoctoral research fellow
Dr Geraldine Jowett is a stem cell and developmental biologist at the University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD in immunology and biomaterials as a Wellcome Trust PhD student at King's College London, and was then awarded a Schmidt Science Fellowship and Sir Henry Wellcome Fellowship to pursue her postdoctoral research at the Gurdon Institute in Cambridge. She now studies the role of biophysical forces in regulating the development of sperm and egg from their shared stem cell precursor during mammalian sex determination.
