As a pilot study to evaluate the impact of DNA testing for 10,000 18-40 year olds launches in Australia, the Guardian has published an article looking at the impact of genetic testing on individuals.
The article speaks to individuals about their experience of discovering they have genetic risk factors and also researchers about the considerations and limitations of widening access to genetic screening.
'Bringing genetic screening into public health has huge promise if we use it wisely,' Professor Ainsley Newson, professor of bioethics at the University of Sydney told the newspaper.
