NHS Cambridge University Hospitals has reported Rachel Gilbert's story of how whole genome sequencing provided her and her family with vital answers regarding her cancer diagnosis.

Gilbert was diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) at the age of 15. Dr Ramesh Bulusu, Consultant Oncologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said 'Sequencing helped us know how to do the follow-up and find a tailored treatment that would suit Rachel's particular type of cancer'.
