Guidance for clinical practice surrounding the Ethical Issues in Prenatal Genetic Diagnosis has been published by the UK's Joint Committee on Genomics in Medicine.
Launched this week at the annual conference of the British Society for Genetic Medicine, the document uses illustrative examples to explore the different dilemmas that might be encountered in clinical practice, and is written for a broad audience including patients.
The Progress Educational Trust's deputy director Sandy Starr was a member of the working group that developed this guidance.
