Women who have pregnancies resulting from intrauterine insemination (IUI) with donor sperm have a higher risk of both pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders compared to women who have pregnancies resulting from IUI from their partner's sperm.
There was no increased risk of pre-eclampsia, hypertensive disorders or pre-term birth for pregnancies resulting from IVF with donor sperm compared to those resulting from IVF with a partner's sperm, a meta-analysis of 17 studies published in the European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology showed.
