A new initiative known as the Trillion Gene Atlas aims to expand the amount of genetic data available for use in artificial intelligence (AI) systems designed to develop new therapies, according to an article in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News.
The project, led by biotechnology company Basecamp Research, seeks to collect and analyse genomic data from more than 100 million species worldwide. The aim is to increase known evolutionary genetic diversity by up to 100-fold compared with existing public databases.
