$800 million was invested in fertility companies in the USA last year by venture capitalists, Axios has reported.
Venture funding of the sector has risen from $305.7 million in 2017 and $134 million in 2012, and this increase in investment had mainly gone to technology start-ups focusing on women. Despite this, over 18 million women of reproductive age do not live in areas of the USA where they are able to access fertility treatment centres.
