Kyrillos Georgiadis was previously a Volunteer Writer at BioNews, and is currently studying for an Msc in Human Molecular Genetics at Imperial College London's Department of Surgery and Cancer. His research involves combining classical genetic research with metabolomics - the study of small metabolites within biological samples - in the investigation of cardiovascular disease. He has worked on the applications of metabolic genome wide association studies, and on the development of statistical methods of optimising nuclear magnetic resonance spectral analysis. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Science Association. Previously, he studied Biological Sciences at Imperial, specialising in Genetics, and spent a year working at King's College London. He is particularly interested in the development of novel medical research techniques, and their clinical applications.
