Dr Sylvie Armstrong is a Volunteer Writer at BioNews. She has recently started a family law pupillage at 1GC in London. She was awarded a PhD in Law from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Her research explores the regulation of the commercial surrogacy industry. In particular, she focuses on whether it would be possible to use a labour law framework to manage these arrangements. Previously, she studied Law at the University of Cambridge, and was previously a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley.
