The Asuta Fertility clinic in Israel has been told it may not take on any new IVF patients.
The clinic has been under investigation since 2022 when it emerged the wrong embryo was transferred to an IVF patient, resulting in the birth of a baby girl who is genetically unrelated to her birth mother, or the mother's husband.
A further case has since been reported where a child born to a couple treated at the centre was not genetically related to the father.
