BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are known to increase the risk of developing cancer with breast and ovarian cancer.
She announced the move in an Instagram post on 28 May 2025.
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie also chose a double mastectomy after she discovered she carried the BRCA1 gene variant, leading to greater awareness of the gene defect.
