Dr Valerie Shaikly

Dr Valerie Shaikly is a Volunteer at the Progress Educational Trust (PET), and a Volunteer Writer at its flagship publication BioNews. She is a clinical embryologist, and is also a consultant clinical scientist specialising in genomic medicine within reproductive science. She is a founding Partner at Fertility Genetics, Chair of Examiners for Reproductive Science at the Royal College of Pathologists (where she is also a Fellow), Training Lead for support staff at the Association of Reproductive Clinical Scientists, and a Fellow of the Academy for Healthcare Science and the Institute of Biomedical Science. She has a PhD in Reproductive Immunology from the University of Essex, and an MSc in Health Promotion from the University of East London. She originally studied Molecular Biology at the University of York, and went on to train in Embryology at Hammersmith Hospital under the tutorship of Professor Lord Robert Winston.
